In computer graphics, a point is a fundamental geometric primitive that represents a single location in three-dimensional space. Points are used to define the vertices of polygons, which are the building blocks of all 3D models. In Cinema 4D, a popular 3D modeling and animation software application, you can easily see how many points are in an object by selecting the object and looking at the “Points” value in the Object Manager.
Knowing how many points are in an object can be important for a number of reasons. Alternatively, if you are trying to create a highly detailed model, you may want to increase the number of points in the object.
